Since July 2009 Bernhard Sagmeister serves as Managing Director of Austria’s Federal Promotional Bank ”Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH” (aws). Bernhard Sagmeister draws on over 24 years of professional experience in the financial and banking industry, holding various Board Functions in this area. In addition, since 2015 he serves as Chairman and President of European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM) in Brussels/Belgium.
Mark Drugan
Managing Director/ Head of European Primaries Investing @ Capital Dynamics
Mark is a Managing Director and Head of European Primaries Investing. He has over 30 years of experience evaluating, selecting and monitoring private equity fund investments and sits on several private equity fund advisory boards. He has been closely involved in the design and implementation of the British Venture Capital Association’s annual performance measurement survey since the pilot study in the early 1990s. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham.
Fabian Wasmus
Managing Director @ Vitruvian Partners
Fabian Wasmus joined Vitruvian, a leading tech- and healthcare-focused European growth fund, in 2017. Here he is heading the DACH office in Munich and being responsible for growth investments in the technology, business services and healthcare sectors. Prior to Vitruvian, Mr. Wasmus was a partner with EQT, focusing on TMT/digital, consumer and business services as well as healthcare-related investments in the DACH and Nordics region. Prior to joining EQT, he worked at MCap Finance investing in German mid-cap companies, as well as for KPMG within the corporate finance team. In the course of his career, he has also co-founded an internet start-up. Fabian has more than 16 years of relevant Tech, M&A and Private Equity investment experience.
Maurice Hernandez
Principal @ Accel-KKR
Maurice Hernandez joined Accel-KKR in 2007 and is based in the firm’s London office where he leads buyout and growth equity investment activities across Europe. Prior to joining AKKR, Maurice was a member of Deutsche Bank’s Mergers & Acquisitions team where he was involved in a variety of mergers, acquisitions and buyouts focused on the software and technology-enabled services sectors. Maurice previously worked at Needham & Company where he worked with emerging growth technology businesses on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising. Earlier in his career, Maurice also worked at Excite.com, a leading Internet search engine and services portal. Maurice is involved with AKKR’s investments in Kerridge CS, Kimble, One.com, Reapit and Smart Communications. Maurice was involved with the firm’s past investments in Clavis Insight (acquired by Ascential plc in 2017 for $130 million), HighJump Software (acquired by Körber AG in 2017 for $750 million), Zinc Ahead (acquired by Veeva Systems in 2015 for $130 million), Endurance International Group (acquired by a private equity consortium in 2011 for $1.0 billion), iTradeNetwork (acquired by Roper Technologies in 2010 for $525 million) and Saber (acquired by EDS, later Hewlett Packard Enterprise, in 2007 for $460 million). Maurice received a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University.
Francesco di Valmarana
Partner @ Pantheon
Francesco is a senior member of Pantheon's European investment team and a member of the European Investment Committee, the Co-investment Committee and the Global Credit Committee. Francesco was previously with Unigestion, where he managed the firm’s global secondaries programme. Prior to Unigestion he was a partner and co-founder of the European venture capital firm DN Capital, having spent three years prior to that as part of the European investment team at Advent International. He has a BA in East Asian studies from Princeton University and received an MBA from Insead. In addition to his native English and Italian, Francesco also speaks French. Francesco is based in London.
Alexander Frolov
General Partner @ Target Global
Alex founded Target Global in 2012 and has been actively involved in building the organization ever since. He leads the firm's late stage investment practice and has invested in many successful marketplace companies. Amongst these, many are positioned in the FoodTech space, such as Delivery Hero (FRA:DHER) and Blue Apron (NYSE:APRN), as well as Lemoncat and FoodFox (acquired by Yandex). Alex's recent focus is directed towards transportation and travel investments: Juno (sold to Get), Dreamlines, etc. Prior to joining Target Global, Alex worked at the VC firm DFJ Esprit in London. Before that, he led several private and corporate startups in the tech field, including the medical business unit of United Corporation for Innovations. He started his career in asset management, running the public market tech & telco fund. He holds a bachelor’s degree from London School of Economics and Political Sciences and an MBA from London Business School. Additionally, Alex holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Jean-François Le Ruyet
Partner @ Quilvest Private Equity
Jean-François Le Ruyet is a Partner of the Quilvest Private Equity team, co-managing the US/Europe co-investments and funds programs with a focus on buy-out in Europe. Jean-François is a member of the Quilvest funds and co-investments Investment Committees. He also sits on the Advisory Board of various PE funds. Prior to joining Quilvest, Jean-François gained seven years of management and strategic consulting experience with Bain & Company as well as later with McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, Jean-François worked with several European Private Equity funds in various industries, in particular, the media and consumer goods sectors. His assignments included strategic and market due diligence, and merger and acquisition valuations. Prior to his consulting career, Jean-François worked for two years at Société Générale in São Paulo, Brazil. Jean-François is a graduate of HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales) and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
David Jeffrey
Partner @ StepStone Group
Mr. Jeffrey leads StepStone’s activities in Europe and is a member of the private equity team, focusing on investments in Europe and the Middle East and co-investments. He is also involved in the Firm’s ESG and diversity initiatives, as well as various investment and management activities. Prior to joining StepStone in 2012, Mr. Jeffrey was a managing partner at Parish Capital where he founded the firm’s European and Asian practices and oversaw the secondary and co-investment businesses. Before that he served as managing director of Bank of America’s European private equity group. Previously, Mr. Jeffrey was a managing director and head of BancBoston Capital’s European and Asian operations. Mr. Jeffrey received an MA from Cambridge University and is a qualified chartered accountant.
Hans van Swaay
Partner @ Lyrique Private Equity
Hans van Swaay is a partner of Lyrique and has been active for more than twenty years in private equity as co-founder of Lyrique, as Head of Private Equity at Pictet & Cie, as Managing Director of UBS Capital, as Managing Director of Merifin and as partner of Lowe Finance. Lyrique invests in private equity for family offices, private wealth institutions and institutional investors. Lyrique makes investments in niche private equity and venture capital funds. Hans is a co-author Private Equity 4.0, Reinventing Value Creation, published by Wiley in February 2015.

Raphael Rupprechter

Raffael Rupprechter is a partner and the CFO at Cross Equity Partners. He has more than 8 years experience in private equity. In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Raffael has overall responsibility for all matters relating to accounting, tax, reporting and regulatory compliance for the Cross group entities. Furthermore, Raffael was involved in several transactions such as the investments in WDM, punker, Rademacher and Micro-Macinazione as well as the divestments of Schwab Verkehrstechnik and spirella. Raffael studied at the universities of St.Gallen (Switzerland), ESADE Barcelona (Spain) and EGADE Monterrey (Mexico) where he obtained a master’s degree in banking and finance as well as a CEMS Master’s in International Management.
Travis Pittman

Travis Pittman, co-founder & CEO of TourRadar, is an Australian who has lived in Vienna for the past 10 years. His engineering background and love for travel and technology led him to building a category leading online marketplace where travelers can easily compare and book multi-day tour experiences to over 200 countries. He leads a team of 165 people globally, with the Headquarters of the company in Vienna and offices in Toronto and Brisbane. To date the company has raised US $68m in funding from investors in Europe and the US.
Jason Ball
Managing Partner @ Qualcomm Ventures
Jason is a Managing Director at Qualcomm Ventures in the UK, focused on software and services. He led the team’s investments in Arteris (acquired by Qualcomm), We7 (acquired by Tesco Plc.) and Videoplaza (acquired by Telstra). Other recent deals he’s managed include Blippar, BitBar, Grand Cru, Peak, Wrapp and Yplan. Prior to joining Qualcomm Ventures, Jason was an Investment Director at London Seed Capital, an early stage VC fund, where he focused on internet technology investments. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Mississippi College and an MBA from ESADE. Jason is an avid surfer, skier, free-diver and cyclist. He was recently selected as one of the top investor bloggers by Venture Village and CB Insights.
John O’Sullivan

Co-Head of Beechbrook Capital Ireland and an Investment Committee Member. John was, until the end of Dec-17, a Senior Vice-President, co-managing Enterprise Ireland's Direct Equity Fund, responsibility for Seed, Series A, B, C and D investments in Irish, UK and US based start-ups, including origination, follow-on, co-invest and completing 100 plus exits.
Sascha Günther
Investment Director @ Oakley Capital
Sascha joined Oakley in 2018 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management with a focus on the German-speaking region. Prior to joining Oakley, Sascha was Vice President at ProSiebanSat.1 where he led on multiple investments in the digital commerce and consumer health space. Previous to this, Sascha worked as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, advising on Retail & Consumer and Private Equity. Sascha holds an MBA from the London Business School and a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Technische Universität München, Germany.
Uli Grabenwarter
Deputy Director - Equity Investments @ EIF
Uli Grabenwarter, is Deputy Director - Equity Investments at European Investment Fund (EIF). In this capacity he oversees EIF’s activities in Impact Investing, Technology Transfer and Venture Capital, with EIF being Europe’s biggest Fund-of-Funds Investment platform in that space. Previously he was responsible for EIF’s strategic development in the equity space and in this context has led the build-up of the Social Impact Accelerator, the first pan-European social impact investing fund-of-funds. From 2010 to 2012 he conducted a 20 months research project on impact investing in collaboration with IESE University of Navarra in Barcelona and the Family Office Circle Foundation based in Switzerland, analysing best-market-practices for impact investing in the private equity and venture capital space. He is a visiting Professor for Private Equity and Venture Capital at IESE University. He regularly publishes articles and white papers on venture capital and impact investing. Uli is also chair of the European Impact Investing Luxembourg think-tank platform (www.eill.lu) and member of several expert groups on impact investing and impact metrics across Europe. Uli holds a Master’s degree in Business and Finance of the University of Graz.
Jan Miczaika
Partner @ HV Holtzbrinck Ventures
Jan Miczaika joined HV Holtzbrinck Ventures as a partner in 2017. Previously Jan was COO at Wooga, a Berlin-based developer of mobile games (and a HV investment). Straight out of university Jan co-founded Hitmeister, an e-commerce marketplace later sold to Real - METRO Group. Since 2007 Jan has also been an angel investor in almost 20 companies including Blacklane, Audibene (sold to EQT/Sivantos), MAR (sold to Grünenthal Pharma), Homelike, Wooga and Jodel. Jan studied Business Administration at HHL in Leipzig and in the Ph.D. program at WHU.
