Christophe de Dardel, Managing Director, is Head of Private Equity, a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee, of the Global Research Commitee and a member of Unigestion’s Executive Committee. He was most recently Head of Portfolio Management within the Private Equity team. He joined Unigestion in January 2001. Christophe previously spent more than ten years on several continentsat the Société Générale de Surveillance, a global inspection and testing group. He then established and ran the Swisscom Venture Fund, a corporate fund aimed at financing entrepreneurial initiatives of Swisscom collaborators. Christophe holds a Degree in Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Ross Ahlgren
General Partner @ Kreos Capital
Ross has built a market leading position for Kreos in Europe and the UK. Ross focuses on identifying, assessing and managing transactions across Europe and the UK as well as participating in the management and execution of Kreos’s overall strategy. Prior to Kreos, Ross spent 10 years in a number of roles within American International Group (AIG) including Vice President of Operations for AIG Europe focusing on developing marketing strategies for 14 countries. He also worked directly with the CEO on several internal projects including: Executive Information Systems, internal consulting roles, management development and the launch and divestment of a software company. Prior to joining AIG, Ross spent two years at American Airlines’ helping to build the industry’s first yield management systems. Ross joined American Airlines from Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned an MBA. Previously, in undergraduate school, he was part of a team at the University of Texas Business School that pioneered research into successful high-growth companies. Ross has a BA in Business from the University of Texas.
David Boal

David Boal is a Managing Director and Head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Siguler Guff. Based in London, Mr. Boal leads Siguler Guff’s European business. Prior to joining Siguler Guff in 2015, Mr. Boal was a Managing Director at The Abraaj Group, where he led the firm's European fundraising and client coverage team. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse Asset Management responsible for institutional investor coverage. During his tenures at both Credit Suisse and Abraaj, Mr. Boal specialized in the marketing and distribution of private equity and infrastructure investment products. Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Boal was a Managing Director of the global equity boutique at Perpetual Limited, an Australian investment management company. Prior to Perpetual, Mr. Boal served as a Managing Director and head of the London office at Bank of Ireland Asset Management. Previously, Mr. Boal was a Director and head of sterling bonds at J.P. Morgan's London office, where he had fiduciary responsibility to the Bank of England for the firm's primary dealer. In addition, he led the distribution of debut sterling issues for sovereign borrowers including Hungary, South Africa, Greece and Russia. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Boal was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where he helped establish the firm's UK gilt business. Mr. Boal began his career as an Economist in the strategic planning division of Shell International Petroleum. Mr. Boal is a trustee of Find Your Feet, a non-governmental organization working in rural communities in Asia and Africa. He has served on the Bank of England working committee for gilt market reform and as a trustee of the Credit Suisse Foundation. Mr. Boal holds a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Queen's University Belfast and an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
David Barbour
Managing Partner @ FPE Capital LLP
David Barbour is the Managing Partner of FPE Capital LLP. FPE Capital LLP is an established growth capital investor in the UK lower mid-market, having made 12 investments to date, with revenue growth of over 100% across its portfolio. The firm’s Fund II was closed at £101m in October 2017 and two investments have been made to date. The focus is on high growth UK based companies with a technology enabled B2B focus. David started his career in the broadcast media and became a lawyer then investment banker at Robert Fleming and JP Morgan. He currently sits on the board of London based fixed wireless telco and IT company Optimity.
Karlheinz Schmelig
Managing Partner @ Creathor Venture
Karlheinz Schmelig is a managing partner at Creathor Venture focusing on life sciences and healthtech investments. He has a broad background in private equity and venture capital and has been working in the industry for over 15 years. Before joining Creathor Venture, Karlheinz Schmelig worked as an investment director at 3i Group plc and before that as an investment manager at the Technologieholding VC GmbH. Prior to his venture capital career Karlheinz worked successfully for over ten years in a number of global management positions in the healthcare industry. He spent seven of these years in the US at Boehringer Mannheim and F. Hoffmann-La Roche, where he worked in global business development and marketing roles. Karlheinz Schmelig studied business in Mannheim and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. He is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society for Business Administration and a Certified Production Inventory Manager (CPIM) with the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). He currently serves as an advisory board member for the"GO BIO Gründerinitiative" of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). In his spare time Karlheinz loves combining outdoors, marathon running and wine tasting.
Dr. Christian Nagel

Dr. Christian Nagel is Co-Founder and Partner of Earlybird and based at the Berlin office. Christian has more than 24 years of entrepreneurial and investment experience. He was Chairman of the Board of Tipp24 AG (Prime Standard Frankfurt Exchange: TIM) and Interhyp AG (Prime Standard Frankfurt Exchange: IYP), which returned more than 50x the original Earlybird investment. Up till the trade sale to SMSC (NASDAQ: SMSC) he also served on the board of BridgeCo AG (Zurich). He is currently on the boards of CrossEngage (Berlin), N26 (Berlin), ShapeShift (Zug/Denver), smava (Berlin) and Tradico (Munich). Prior to founding Earlybird in 1997, Christian, together with a group of investors, acquired various companies from the Treuhandanstalt (the former East-German state holding) and gained operational experience. He was a shareholder and an Executive Director of HNP Präzisionsteile GmbH & Co. KG, SMB Industrieholding GmbH, DH Industrieholding Hohenthurm GmbH and a number of other subsidiary companies of these holding companies. Previously, Christian worked as an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Co. Inc. focusing on restructuring, strategy and M&A projects within various industries. Michael Sonnenshein

Michael Sonnenshein joined Grayscale Investments in January 2014. As Director of Sales & Business Development, Michael is responsible for maintaining relationships with the firm’s various service providers as well as overseeing the sales of the Bitcoin Investment Trust (symbol: GBTC), Ethereum Classic Investment Trust, and Zcash Investment Trust. He also plays a key role in educating banks, hedge funds, family offices, and other institutions on the merits of the digital currency asset class. Prior to joining Grayscale, Michael was a financial advisor at JP Morgan Securities, covering HNW individuals and institutions. He also worked in a similar capacity at Barclays Wealth, providing coverage to middle‐market hedge funds and institutions. Michael earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. He holds his Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Uli Grabenwarter
Deputy Director - Equity Investments @ European Investment Fund
Uli Grabenwarter, is Deputy Director - Equity Investments at European Investment Fund (EIF). In this capacity he oversees EIF’s activities in Impact Investing, Technology Transfer and Venture Capital, with EIF being Europe’s biggest Fund-of-Funds Investment platform in that space. Previously he was responsible for EIF’s strategic development in the equity space and in this context has led the build-up of the Social Impact Accelerator, the first pan-European social impact investing fund-of-funds. From 2010 to 2012 he conducted a 20 months research project on impact investing in collaboration with IESE University of Navarra in Barcelona and the Family Office Circle Foundation based in Switzerland, analysing best-market-practices for impact investing in the private equity and venture capital space. He is a visiting Professor for Private Equity and Venture Capital at IESE University. He regularly publishes articles and white papers on venture capital and impact investing. Uli is also chair of the European Impact Investing Luxembourg think-tank platform (www.eill.lu) and member of several expert groups on impact investing and impact metrics across Europe. Uli holds a Master’s degree in Business and Finance of the University of Graz.
Anthony Dalwood

With over 20 years in the industry, Tony is an experienced investor and has also advised numerous public and private equity businesses. In December 2014, Tony became CEO of Gresham House and brought in a new management team that has transformed the company from an investment trust into an AIM listed specialist asset management group. Tony started his career at Phillips & Drew Fund Management (later UBS Global Asset Management), one of the UK’s most prominent value investment firms with £60 billion in assets at its peak. He was a member of the UK Equity Investment Committee with responsibility for managing over £1.5 billion of UK equities. In 2002 Tony founded and became CIO of SVG Investment Managers and CEO of SVG Advisers (formerly Schroder Ventures (London) Limited), the global private equity funds business and specialist alternatives manager. He established and led the growth of SVG Investment Managers, before launching Strategic Equity Capital plc, a London listed Investment Trust in 2005. Tony currently Chairs the London Pension Fund Authority’s Investment Panel, which oversees £4.6 billion in AUM. He is also an Independent non-executive of JP Morgan Private Equity Limited plc, and advises St Edmund College’s Endowment Fund.
Kevin Johnson
Partner @ Medicxi
Prior to co-founding Medicxi, Kevin was a partner with Index Ventures for 12 years, having joined the firm’s life sciences team in 2003.  Kevin spearheaded Index’s very first experimental asset-centric investment, in PanGenetics, which was later acquired by Abbott Pharmaceuticals. He is currently chairman of Levicept Ltd., Apcintex and Crescendo Biologics as well as being a board member of several other startups. Prior to joining Index, Kevin was with Cambridge Antibody Technology (CAT), where he was appointed Head of Research in 1994 and, in 1997, Research Director and Chief Technology Officer. He led the development of CAT's platform technologies and their application in the discovery of a number of human antibodies, two of which are now on the market: Humira (Abbott Pharmaceuticals) and Benlysta (GlaxoSmithKline). Kevin was part of the management team that floated CAT on the London Stock Exchange; it was subsequently acquired by AstraZeneca. Kevin received a BSc in Molecular Biology from Edinburgh University and a PhD from Cambridge University.
Christian Claussen

As a Managing Partner Christian Claussen heads Ventech’s investment activities in the DACH region. He currently represents Ventech in the boards of German portfolio companies Picanova, TV Smiles, Speexx, FinTec Systems and US-based Arteris. Christian looks back on 20 years of hands-on innovation financing and during that time has backed 24 start-ups. 12 of these have been profitably exited while 7 companies are still actively pursuing their growth strategies. Notable exits include Tantau Inc. (acquired by 7/24 Systems), CoreOptics (acquired by Cisco), Silicon Hive (acquired by Intel), Netviewer (acquired by Citrix), Definiens (acquired by Astra Zeneca), Arteris (acquired by Qualcomm), Plista (acquired by GroupM), Turtle Entertainment (acquired by Modern Times Group), Tennis Point (acquired by Karstadt Holding company Signa Group) and most recently Trust You (acquired by Recruit Holdings/Japan). Prior to joining the VC Industry in 1998, Christian spent 10 years in Europe's Telecommunications Industry and hold an EE MSc. with the Technical University of Karlsruhe (D), University of Essex (Colchester/UK) and Ecole Supérieure des Ingénieurs en Electronique et Electrotechnique (Paris/F).
John Doran
General Partner @ TCV
John is a General Partner in London and a founding member of TCV’s European investment efforts. He focuses on investments in the software, internet, and fintech sectors. His current investments include Believe, Brillen.de, NewVoiceMedia, Perfecto, The Pracuj Group, and WorldRemit. John was previously an investor at Summit Partners, where he focused on investments across software, internet, and financial technology. He started his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and later moved to New York. John left his native Ireland more than 20 years ago and has lived and worked in the U.S., Asia and now Europe. Prior to joining the investment world, he competed on the men’s ATP Tennis Tour and was a member of the Irish Davis Cup team between 1996 and 2004. John is a sports fanatic and has competed in tennis, rugby, football, squash, and Gaelic football. These days, he mostly plays on the playground with his young family and enjoys watching the occasional Manchester United match. John received his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and graduated with a B.A. in Economics (with honors) from Harvard College.
Simon Moss
Partner & Head of Europe @Hermes GPE
Simon manages the EMEA investment team and is responsible for all of Hermes GPE’s private equity investment activity in EMEA, overseeing the sourcing, due diligence and monitoring of EMEA funds and co-investments. Simon is based in London, previously having gained experience of working in the US private equity market. Simon has 18 years of private equity experience and was a founding member of the Hermes GPE predecessor organisation, Gartmore Private Equity, which he joined in 2002 and where he was latterly Deputy Managing Director. He is a member of the Hermes GPE Investment and Management Committees. During his time on the Investment Committee in excess of 140 co-investments and 90 fund investments have been completed. Previously, Simon worked as a management consultant at KPMG Consulting where he conducted due diligence on a number of private equity transactions and corporate strategy development projects for both UK and international companies. Simon holds a BSc in Political Science from the University of Bristol.
Mattias de Beau

Mattias de Beau is a member of the research team and focuses on European investments and secondaries. Prior to StepStone, Mr. de Beau was a principal at Greenpark Capital, a secondaries firm based in London. Before that he was an analyst with Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners, a global private equity fund focused on direct investments in real estate. Mr. de Beau graduated with an MSc from Stockholm School of Business.
Fergal McAleavey
Head of Private Equity @ Irish Strategic Investment Fund
The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) was established in December 2014, with a statutory mandate to invest on a commercial basis in a manner designed to support economic activity and employment in Ireland. The ISIF is valued at c. €8.1billion and is available to invest in Ireland as suitable investment opportunities arise and are developed. The dual objective mandate of the ISIF - investment return and economic impact - represents a new approach to investing and will require all investments to generate both investment returns and economic impact in Ireland. The fund has the flexibility to make investments across the capital structure of companies and projects, both debt and equity, and across a range of investment types and sectors. Fergal was previously Managing Director at AIB Corporate Finance, one of Ireland’s leading corporate advisory firms. Over the years he has led a wide range of investment transactions including M&A, buyouts, debt refinancing’s and IPO’s. While in AIB Corporate Finance, Fergal was seconded to the SMU within the Department of Finance which has responsibility for the completion of the restructuring of the banking system and managing the State’s shareholding in the banks and disposals thereof. In his earlier career Fergal worked as a Technology Equity Analyst at Dolmen Securities and as a Senior Scientist at Optronics Ireland. Fergal has an MSc in Physics from DCU and a PhD in Physics from Trinity College.
Andreas Bohn

Andreas Bohn is Co-CEO & Managing Partner of SwanCap Partners, a leading independent private equity investment management platform with offices in Munich, Luxembourg, Milan and New York. Prior to joining SwanCap in 2015, Andreas worked for 22 years in a wide range of investment banking and private equity related functions at UniCredit/HypoVereinsbank, most recently serving as a Management Board member at UniCredit Bank AG and as a member of the Global UniCredit Corporate & Investment Banking Executive Committee. He co-founded and for many years led UniCredit’s Leveraged Finance business, which provided total debt financing in excess of €50 billion for over 400 private equity sponsored transactions in the European market. He also established the Private Equity / Principal Investments business of UniCredit, which committed a total of ca. €5bn to leading private equity sponsors, through fund investments as well as co-investments. Andreas received an MBA from Ludwig-Maximilians University and a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Munich.

Martin is an advisor and angel investor with 14 years’ experience as a professional investor, primarily as former General Partner in Creandum (first VC in Spotify), where he was responsible for multiple exits a.o. Jays AB (IPO), IPtronics (acquired by Mellanox) and Nanoradio (acquired by Samsung). He is an investor in London based Kindred Capital, Felix Capital and Frog Capital where he is the Chairman of the Board. Martin has started multiple companies and he is or has recently been on the board of No Isolation (N), Automile (US), Appear TV (N), Vivino (US) and Auto-Butler (DK). In addition, he recently invested in the Slovakian flying car company AeroMobil. Martin's track record includes more than 15 years of operational experience as a CEO and more than 25 years of board experience from tech companies.
Sami Moughrabie

Having facilitated over EUR 5 Billion in global investment transactions, Mr. Moughrabie is responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s short and long term global strategy through the disruptive digitization of all major industry sectors. Mr. Moughrabie is also a global pioneer in the industrial applications of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing advising governments and global Fortune 100 companies on their technology strategies. Previously, Mr. Moughrabie was with Bank of America’s Hedge Fund Group. He specialized in multi asset products within the Capital Markets and Alternative Sectors as well as Structured Derivatives, Capital Introductions, Risk Management, and formulating strategic alliances in the alternative investments space. Seonaid Mackenzie

Seonaid founded Sturgeon Ventures LLP as a "single family office" in 1998 investing in public and private companies in the capacity as a manager/advisor with the family as the Active LP.
Seonaid Mackenzie has had an award winning 33-year career in the City with positions including stockbroker, fund manager, an operator of UK funds; fund raising for private companies and funds; and multiple non-exec of financial service firms and SMEs. Sturgeon took a new active business line in 1999 and became the pioneer coining the phrase "The Regulatory Incubator" for financial services known by some as an FCA Umbrella, or Regulatory Hosting Platform, taking the AR/Tied Agent into a wholesale market in 2003. In 2013, Sturgeon Ventures became an Investment Advisor with the SEC and in 2014 a sub threshold AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager), laterally an EU VECA manager in 2016. The firm has now incubated over 150 start ups since this business model began, including a number of disreet families. The Incubator clients include fund managers with various strategies, third party fund raisers, corporate finance firms. Although jurisdiction neutral; Sturgeon have assisted in a number of firms setting up funds in Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Cayman, BVI and the UK. Seonaid is also regulated by the MFSA as an investment manager and sits on a number of investment committees in Malta, and by the Central Bank of Ireland sitting on UCITs Boards. Seonaid has previously been approved as a member of the investment committee of Guernsey regulated entities.
James Wise

James joined Balderton in 2013. Since then, he has led Balderton's investments in a number of sectors and geographies, covering healthtech, manufacturing, mobile productivity, developer tools and virtual and augmented reality. He sits as a board member and observer for multiple portfolio companies including Sophia Genetics, Sunrise ( acquired by Microsoft ), Cloud9IDE ( acquired by Amazon ), 3DHubs, Sketchfab and Crowdcube. Prior to joining Balderton, James helped to launch and run one of the UK's first social venture funds, providing support and capital to social enterprises with a special focus on the education, healthcare and financial sectors. Before this James worked with entrepreneurs and businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with Atomico Ventures, the Guardian Media Group and as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. As well as the professional experiences above, James has worked as an adviser to a number of start-ups and social enterprises, and in 2011 as a Specialist Adviser to Parliament. James has an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University and occasionally lectures for the University on aspects of responsible capitalism and the social impact of technology.

Alex van Someren

Alex van Someren is Managing Partner, Early Stage Funds, at global technology investor Amadeus Capital Partners, where his current investment focus areas include artificial intelligence, machine learning, autonomous vehicles, cloud computing, cyber security, digital healthcare and medical technology. He co-founded Europe’s first cyber security accelerator Cyber London https://cylonlab.com, and he was recently a member of the Steering Group for the Royal Society Cyber Security Research Report. In 1996 Alex co-founded nCipher to develop internet security products using advanced cryptography. As nCipher’s CEO, he subsequently led the company to a listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2000. nCipher plc was sold to Thales SA in 2008. Alex lives in Cambridge, UK and is married with three children. He was appointed an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge in 2005. He is an active supporter of ActionAid, Kettle’s Yard and the Prince’s Trust.
Mark Billige

Mark Billige is the Managing Partner of the UK & Ireland as well as a Global Board Member at Simon-Kucher & Partners, having been with the firm since 2006. Mark has eighteen years experience in the field of value creation and financial management. His areas of specialisation are the development of growth strategies, in particular national and international marketing and pricing strategies, discount optimisation, sales force management and negotiation strategy. Mark is a regular speaker and chairman at conferences and business schools as well as a contributor on national broadcast media on the subject of pricing strategy. Mark consults and advises for numerous private equity firms across their portfolio businesses with his primary industry focus on the B2B services and SIM sectors (software, internet and media). His experience prior to joining Simon-Kucher & Partners was gained in positions within industry and consulting. Nathalie Von Niederhäusern

Nathalie von Niederhaeusern, Managing Director, is a member of the BlackRock Private Equity Partners (PEP) group within BlackRock Alternative Investors. She is heading PEP's investment team in EMEA as well as the group’s secondary practice and is a member of PEP's Investment Committee. Ms. von Niederhaeusern has more than 20 years of experience in the private equity and corporate finance industry. She started her career in 1997 at Zurich Financial Services, Switzerland, in the Mergers & Acquisitions department, focusing on the life and non-life insurance sectors. In 1999, she joined Swiss Re, Switzerland, focusing on the company's strategic, long-term investments in the insurance industry. As from 2001, she worked for Swiss Re's Private Equity Fund of Funds unit, where she was responsible for investments in European and US based private equity fund managers. In 2005, she moved to New York, United States, to establish the North American presence of the unit. Prior to joining BlackRock Private Equity Partners, Ms. von Niederhaeusern was Head Private Equity and Investment Monitoring and member of the Investment Committee at Swiss Re Private Equity Partners. Ms. von Niederhaeusern holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Bern, and is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

Frog and its network is constantly building on its Scale-Up Methodology through which it supports CEOs to accelerate growth and avoid risk during this critical growth stage.   He is board member or observer at DynamicAction (now in Redwood City, CA), Rated People (London), McMakler (Berlin), OrderDynamics (Toronto) and Dealflo (London). He was previously lead Frog investor at GB Group Plc (now UK AIM quoted) and eCommera (now DentsuAegis). Through his work with these companies and many years as an investor in scaling technology businesses, Mike has experience of ecommerce, fintech, proptech, SAAS software and online consumer propositions.   Mike grew up in Africa, Thailand and Australia before moving back to the UK, and graduating from Bath University. 
Cian Cotter

Cian Cotter is a Managing Director at Insight Venture Partners. He joined Insight in 2003 and leads the firm’s capital markets and capital formation activities. Cian manages Insight’s inbound deal flow from the banking sector and maintains relationships with the global investment banking and capital markets communities. Kim Schneider

David Smith

David is a Managing Director and Co-head of Co-investment. He is also Chairman of the firm’s Clean Energy Infrastructure Investment Committee in respect of certain existing investment mandates. He has over 30 years of experience in private equity and infrastructure financing. Prior to joining us, David worked with GE Capital in the UK and US, as well as with GE's European private equity businesses. Earlier in his career, he served as an adviser to AXA Private Equity and established the European business of First Reserve Corporation, prior to which he was with BP Ventures’ solar photovoltaics business. Elaine is a Founder and Managing Partner of Atlantic Bridge a Global Growth Equity Technology Fund with over €1bn of assets under management. She is also a founder of Summit Bridge Capital which is aimed at helping European companies scale in China. Summit Bridge is backed by China Investment Corp (CIC) which is the World’s 4th largest Sovereign investor and Irelands Sovereign Wealth Fund, the NTMA. Prior to founding Atlantic Bridge, she was founder and director of Glonav, a GPS company that was acquired by NXP for $110 million. Elaine served as CFO and Vice President of Finance for three successful technology Nasdaq IPOs − Parthus, IONA and Smartforce – that realized more than $5 billion in value for investors. She is currently on the board of China Ireland portfolio companies FieldAware, Novaerus, and formerly on the boards of Acision (2014 refinanced with Blackstone, 2015 acquired by Comverse), Sophia (acquired by Boxfish), and Bridgeco (acquired by SMSC 2013). In 2014 the Irish Government appointed her to the Board of Enterprise Ireland the Agency responsible for Enterprise. Neil McGowan

Neil is a Director and Co-Head of Investments with MML Growth Capital Partners Ireland. Prior to joining MML Ireland, Neil spent 5 years as an Investment Director with FL Partners. Théodore Economou

Théodore Economou is the Chief Investment Officer for Multi-Asset. He joined in February 2015. Prior to joining, Théodore was CEO and CIO of the CERN Pension Fund, where he initiated a risk-based approach that came to be known as the CERN Model. Previously, he was assistant treasurer of ITT Corporation, managing pension assets and liabilities worldwide as well as the firm’s capital markets activities, from 1993 to 2009. He began his career as a consultant at Accenture’s Financial Services Group in 1987. Théodore is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Virginia Retirement System, and served as secretary of the European Commission’s RESAVER Task Force for the establishment of a pan European pension fund. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from EPFL in 1987. He also holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management 1993, and is a CFA Charterholder.

James Brennan

James is an Investment Director on the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund’s Innovation Team with a primary responsibility for the fund’s venture capital portfolio. The ISIF, Ireland’s sovereign development fund, was established in 2014 with a statutory mandate to invest on a commercial basis to support economic activity and employment and with its scale and long term outlook, it is very well placed to support and capitalise on the opportunity set in high growth emerging Irish technology and life science companies. Today it holds c. €600m of commitments across some 30 VC funds and a further c. €100m exposure to patient capital platforms dedicated to early stage investments. The ISIF is also building a portfolio of direct co-investments alongside VCs into high potential scaling opportunities with potential for long-term transformative impact in Ireland. Prior to working with the ISIF, James was a member of the investment team of the National Pensions Reserve Fund, a globally diversified Irish sovereign wealth fund that evolved into the ISIF in 2014.
